Randomly searching for the forgotten name of TB book, I saw the link to the old-old site. Saw the old fics, the names of old friends, that were a huge part of my life for years. I miss it, and though my heart has healed, I still remember being devastated when the new-old site went down due to pricing (I think it was). Then, worse, the series ended. Sure, we made fun of it, and yes, it was horribly lacking in quality--more than made up for with ridiculous antics, illogical actions, fact-confusion about its own past, and terrible dialogue--but it was my first love in terms of book series. I have moved on to bigger and better things, but I have never forgotten the main characters I knew so well, and the overly-optimistic view of horses they inspired.
Thanks to Claire "sunburn/superjoer" (sp?) for even starting the site in the first place. Thanks to all my WB friends for contributing. In this fresh new year, I look back and remember (even as I am, in fact, supposed to be in bed, because it is already tomorrow). Maybe someday we will come back to the original site. I have to say, I miss the community, the place we all gravitated to. Ff.net is so big you get lost, and it's harder to chat, to insert your own custom smiley-faces. Ah, well. The memories are good, that's a little sunshine in my past worth recalling, at least.
